Helicon has signed a deal with ABC-Clio, of Denver, Colorado, to supply content for nine titles for ABC's successful Innovations in Science series, published for the school library market.
The nine titles will cover science reference areas, including astronomy, earth science, and ecology. Said Rolf Janke, Vice President and Publisher of ABC:
This is a significant event for ABC-Clio. We have aggressive plans for the science and technology reference market and the best way for us to launch this was to hook up with Helicon. The comprehensiveness of the Helicon science and technology database is unequalled!
David Attwooll, MD of Helicon, commented:
This deal is a coup for Helicon. We have been publishing material for the North American market for several years, but this agreement underlines Helicon's determination to provide content suitable for US classrooms. We are very pleased to be working with ABC-Clio, a company that consistently receives star reviews in the major library journals for the quality of its curriculum-related content.
Other Helicon science titles include the best-selling Hutchinson Dictionary of Science (published in the USA by Macmillan), and the Hutchinson Dictionary of Scientific Biography (published in the USA by Oxford University Press).
