BT and Helicon have launched a new enhanced version of the Hutchinson Online Encyclopedia the BT Hutchinson Educational Encyclopedia, which has detailed links to core National Curriculum topics. This follows on from the successful launch of the online product in the summer.
The Hutchinson Online Encyclopedia now contains more than 5 million words, 52,000 articles, thousands of photos, videos, diagrams, maps, quotations, bibliographies, an atlas of the world with country statistics, and 3D animations showing, for example, how the human heart works.
Every Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 article has been reviewed by teachers, with topics such as 'ecosystem' and 'industral revolution' showing a range of further reading, feature essays, and timeline references.
The Hutchinson Online Encyclopedia is available from BT for a subscription of £50 per annum per person and £150 for up to six simultaneous users. Full site licence prices are available on request and for those who want to try before they buy a concise version of the encyclopedia is available free on the Internet and gives users access to a subset of the full version.
