Encyclopedia articles: Samples
Number of entries
To show how our article ranking works, you can view five articles from our British history set, ranging from the most important (given a ranking of 1), which would appear in any encyclopedia, to the most specialized (given a ranking of 5), which would appear only in the most comprehensive of encyclopedias.
Length of entries
To see how we can vary the length of the articles included in your encyclopedia, take a look at the short, medium, and long versions of our article on the Norfolk Broads.
Linking
Encyclopedia articles have two types of link:
- cross-reference links within the text to other articles.
- links to other types of supporting material.
Our article on Charles Darwin, with a range of associated items, shows how both types of linking work.
Biographies
This sample is intended to show the structure of our biography articles and the type of information included. If you are interested in subject-specific data, you may also like to view the biography samples for a particular subject.
