Japanese tea ceremony

The tea ceremony, which epitomizes a traditional Japanese concern with ritual and attention to detail, is based on both Buddhist and Shinto principles, objects and actions being rich in symbolism. The tea bowls reflect the seasons: winter bowls, seen here, are tall and thick to retain the heat of the tea, and their colours are symbolic of winter.

koala

The koala seldom comes down from the eucalyptus trees in which it lives, and then only to pass from one tree to another. It expends little energy and sleeps for around 18 hours a day, eating up to 1 kg/2 lb of shoots during the rest of the day.
